Taekwondo in Australia
In 1963, Master Chan - Yong Kim received sponsorship from the Australian Judo Federation to come to Australia to be the first Taekwondo instructor. Chan - Yong Kim graduated from the Korean National Yudo College (A premier institution for martial arts). After Kim's contract ran out the Judo Federation invited his friend and colleague Ke - Hyung No to come to Australia to run courses in Judo and Taekwondo.
Ke - Hyong No ran Judo and Taekwondo courses in Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania, from 1965 to 1967. Two years after, Ke - Hyong No's students became instructors, running their own clubs. These students/instructors became a huge part in the Development of taekwondo in Australia.
